Principal Design Features An alloy of nickel and chromium intended for high temperature use as electric resistance heating elements. This alloy increases in electrical resistance as it gets hotter. Typical is a 6% increase at 1600 F over the room temperature resistance

Applications Used as heating elements in electric appliances and electric industrial furnaces and ovens.

Machinability The alloy is readily machined by conventional means.

Forming This alloy is usually furnished as wire or strip and it may be readily formed into various configurations, such as coiling for wire forms.

Welding May be welded by all the standard techniques.

Heat Treatment Anneal at 2050 F to 1950 F and air cool.

Forging May be forged in the 2050 F range.

Hot Working May be hot worked from 2000 F to 1400 F.

Cold Working The alloy has good ductility and is readily cold worked. Cold working will cause work hardening.

Annealing Anneal at 2050 F to 1950 F range.

Hardening Hardens due to cold working only.
