Principal Design Features
A commercially pure wrought nickel alloy combining excellent corrosion resistance with high electrical and thermal conductivities.
Applications
Generally employed in temperature sensors, leadframes, transducers, transistors and a variety of electronic components.
Machinability
Behaves like the other 99% nickel content alloys. It is machinable by conventional means, but "gummy" in behavior. Rigid tooling and aggressive feed rates assist in good machining.
Forming
Conventional cold and hot forming methods may be employed with this alloy. Full annealing after work is required to reattain maximum properties.
Welding
This alloy may be welded, soldered or brazed using most conventional processes. Clean and remove all foreign objects prior to welding to assure maximum weld integrity.
Annealing
Soak at 1300-1700 F, air cool.
Hardening
This alloy does not respond to hardening by heat treatment.
